In order to promote growth, combat poverty, and increase shared wealth, tertiary education is essential. For innovation and growth to occur, a highly trained workforce that has lifetime access to quality post-secondary education is a requirement. This is because educated individuals are more marketable and creative, earn higher pay, and are better equipped to weather economic shocks. The benefits of tertiary education extend to society as a whole as well as to the individual. Graduates from higher education are more ecologically sensitive, have better habits, and participate in their communities more.
